September 2014 – Fuerteventura from head to toe
We started our journey in Corralejo, the island’s largest resort. Calm waters, beautiful landscapes, view over Isla de Lobos from a short distance. Nobody lives on Isla de Lobos and you can get there by boat (10 minutes) and do some snorkeling or walk around the empty island (8 km).
No need to tell you about sunscreen, water and good walking shoes right?
Next, do not miss the tour to Lanzarote. We had the best guide ever. If you want to go to Lanzarote from Corralejo, you need to go by ferry. We booked a tour, and started our journey early in the morning. The guide, Javier (this was his Spanish name, I think he was German) spoke perfect English, German and Spanish and he explained in detail every stop of the journey. We’ve spent a whole day in Lanzarote and it worth everything.
To visit Fuerteventura entirely, we rented a car. It’s cheap, the roads are incredible well maintained and you have enough choices (many car rentals agencies in town).
While you’re still in Corralejo, don’t you miss the Dunes of Corralejo; light sand, clear ocean, great view, nudists alert π
Stop in Ajuy at Playa de Ajuy; it’s a black sand beach where you can also see the oldest rocks of Gran Canaria
On your way you cannot miss Oasis Parc (3000 animals, a unique botanical garden).
In the south part of the island is Jandia and this part is perfect for surfers π
P.S. It’s totally fine if you do not book anything in advance, you can find lots of agencies from which you can buy tickets, book tours etc. Just relax and go with the flow…

I love Spain. Fortunatly I have a friend who lives just out of Palma. I would never to to anywhere with captive animals though. Animals are treated as money makers.
